SAPPORO CITY UNIVERSITY - Graduate School of Design

We welcome aggressive students who will contribute to the promotion of industry and the development of art and culture.

There are several issues to be solved in our region and the community. Graduate School of Design will foster high-leveled specialists, researchers and educators with the ability to solve such issues. They will contribute to the promotion of industry, the development of art and culture, the reconstruction and the activation of the community through education and research based on Design.  There are three areas in our Graduate School of Design; ‘Spatial Design’, ‘Product Design’, and ‘Contents and Media Design’.  They include Architectural Design, Environmental Design, Product Design, Kansei-Engineering, Human Engineering, Information Design, Contents Design, and Media Design.  We have various talented faculty members who will teach and assist and support our students to obtain knowledge and skills in such areas.

In the collaborative class with the Graduate School of Nursing, the regional issues are focused not only from design but also from nursing point of view.  The solutions obtained in such classes from this multiple perspectives will be suggested to local governments at ‘Collaborative Project Practicum’.

We welcome prospective students who are eager to contribute to promote industry and develop art and culture as the creative social leader utilizing design.
