We, Sapporo City University offer not only the professional education in Design and Nursing, but also are realizing and challenging the world rare example of delivering the education which collaborate Design and Nursing. In general, Design and Nursing are considered to be completely different area of research and education and will not be combined, but we believe this is a worthwhile challenge and prospective.
By offering the trans-disciplinary education, we can contribute to general public living in Sapporo and Hokkaido, by starting the new research project to solve the issues that are rooted in the region and its character, especially in the area of health, community development and incubation of new industry. We also offer many continuing-education classes for general public, local-government staffs and professionals at our satellite campus, so that the community and industry can work together while sharing our research and educational outcome.
In April, 2010, we will launch our masters’ program both in Design and in Nursing. There, we will foster the advance-leveled professionals in Design and Nursing.
We expect our Design graduates to contribute in development of art and culture, in productive and creative industries, in renewal and incarnation of community and region, and in the development of contents and media industries. In the area of Nursing, we expect our graduate to contribute to Nursing in research and education, and at the same time collaborate with health, medical and welfare professionals. |
